Albert Keijzer started building a new office.
In the first week of January, the demolition of the office building in which Albert Keijzer had been located since 1983 started. During the new construction, the planning, administration and management will be housed in temporary office units spread over the site.
The former office of Albert Keijzer was located in the old Kalverschool and the adjacent residence of the headmaster. After the building lost its function as a school, the building was used by a pharmaceutical company. In 1983 Albert Keijzer bought the building and, after a major renovation and restyling, it was used as an office. In the course of time, various adjustments were made to the building, but it is clear that the current building no longer meets today's requirements. That is why it was decided at the beginning of 2020 to build a new office building. The new building will be realized within the existing building area of the former office and the garage and tank cleaning will remain in place.
Maarten Steunenberg, BALD Architecture:
“After making various plans Albert Keijzer decided to demolish the existing office and build a new office building on this site. The layout is fully geared to the company's work process. The new office building, which is located right next to the Zaan, refers to the 'Zaanse warehouse style'. This makes it fit nicely into its industrial environment. It is a simple, sturdy building which has a very refined appearance due to the beautiful masonry detailing, the horizontal white concrete bands and large frames made of black steel.”
