General terms and conditions.
All our agreements are subject to the AVC 2002 (General Transport Conditions 2002) and CMR (the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road.
AVC
The General Transport Conditions 2002 (AVC 2002) are general terms and conditions for agreements related to road transport of goods. These conditions are applied to almost all agreements made by Dutch carriers. The AVC 2002 have been deposited with the registry of the courts in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Dutch version can be found here: https://www.sva.nl/avc
These conditions were jointly developed by the shippers' organization Evofenedex and the carriers' organization TLN. This makes them 'bilateral conditions', meaning that the interests of both parties (shipper/carrier) are equally represented in these conditions.
CMR
CMR regulates agreements related to international road transport. The abbreviation CMR stands for Convention relative au Contrat de Transport International de Marchandises par Route, which translates to the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road.
The CMR automatically applies to transport agreements for international road transport where the place of receipt and/or place of delivery is located in a member state.
Topics covered in the CMR include:
• The scope of obligations for the shipper, carrier, and successive carriers;
• Limitation of liability;
• Scope of compensation;
• Statute of limitations;
• Information obligations.
The Dutch and English translations of the CMR convention can be found here:

• CMR convention (EN)
